A kitchen designer in the US has won a major award for an environmentally-friendly cabinet concept.Milica Roycroft won Electrolux and Interior Design magazines 2010 Kitchen Design Competition for her Recycled, Polyethylene, Storage System Kitchen Concept, appliancemagazine.com reported.According to the website, the design is an extremely flexible cabinet system made of post-industrial recycled content.The different components of the cabinet can be rearranged, stacked and relocated as needed.It was noted that the 2010 contest had challenged entrants to design a kitchen for tomorrows modern family, with special recognition going towards entries with eco-friendly credentials. Homeowners aiming to do their bit for the environment could also look to make more efficient use of water in their kitchen sinks.This years contest winners showcased a unique creativity that focused on bridging and blending the indoors with the outdoors, commented Henrik Otto, Electrolux senior-vice president of global design.
