Kitchen designer rewarded for eco-friendly concept

A kitchen designer in the US has won a major award for an environmentally-friendly cabinet concept.Milica Roycroft won Electrolux and Interior Design magazines 2010 Kitchen Design Competition for her Recycled, Polyethylene, Storage System Kitchen Concept, appliancemagazine.com reported.According to the website, the design is an extremely flexible cabinet system made of post-industrial recycled content.The different components of the cabinet can be rearranged, stacked and relocated as needed.It was noted that the 2010 contest had challenged entrants to design a kitchen for tomorrows modern family, with special recognition going towards entries with eco-friendly credentials.
