De-clutter under your kitchen sink

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Do you find that the cupboard under your kitchen sink is stuffed full of clutter, with items hard to find? The area under the kitchen sink is a popular area for storing cleaning and household products. However, this is an area where supplies often get wet or damaged by leaking pipes. The easy access to this area can also make it dangerous for young children and pets that can be injured by toxic polishes and detergents. Even if you dont have children, is there a possibility that you could be visited by families with children? To keep this area tidy and safe, sort though everything under your sink. Make three piles items to keep under the sink, items to store somewhere else and those to throw away. Place items that cant be ruined in the event of a leak and that are completely safe for children and pets in the pile of things to continue to store under the sink and items that are dangerous for children in the pile of things to be stored elsewhere. Get rid of anything that is expired, leaking or has gone rancid. Throw out all the items that belong in the rubbish bin but make sure that, if you are disposing of hazardous materials, you abide by laws regarding their correct disposal. After disposing of the unwanted items, you then need to find homes for all the stuff that doesnt belong under your sink Place polishes and laundry detergents on high shelves, ideally in locked cabinets. Regular dish detergent can probably just be stored on a higher shelf in your kitchen. If you are forced to store some potentially dangerous items under your sink due to limited on space, fit a childproof cabinet lock.
