Homeowners should be aware of certain budget busters that could hinder their kitchen renovation projects, a report has claimed.A study by Consumer Reports in the US has identified four rules for successful kitchen remodeling, both in terms of practicalities and aesthetics, the Star Tribune reported. These include leaving a ten to 15 per cent cushion in the renovation budget for surprises such as unexpected structural repairs.Avoid settling for a cheap option, thinking someday you will replace it with something you really want, said the Consumer Reports advice. Chances are that will never happen.Elsewhere, the Star Tribune referred to a tip which urged homeowners not to rush when first setting out their kitchen design plan.It suggested that people should take sufficient time to meet with professionals, browse the internet and visit showrooms.Meanwhile, a recent article on Lifehacker.com claimed that stainless steel kitchen sinks are particularly good for removing food odours from hands.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19911422-ADNFCR
