As the World Cup is beckoning, there will probably be a huge rush on to get jobs done and the garden ready for World Cup barbecues and celebrations, so plants, garden furniture and barbeque sales are likely to soar, she said. Such a DIY surge could also affect kitchen projects and sales of new kitchen taps and sinks. The latest figures from BQ revealed that like-for-like sales in the 13 weeks up to the start of May were down by 2.8 per cent, but Ms DeSouza claimed that the dip was likely to have been a result of the periods poor weather, adding that this should not affect sales in the coming months. She explained Now that it is warming up, its likely that people will venture out in the next couple of weeks and catch up on any interior and exterior home improvements that have fallen to the wayside.
