Bold, striking colours will be increasingly adopted in kitchen designs this year, a commentator has found.Speaking to a range of interior designers, Jennifer Bill, a writer for Metro Canada, discovered that grey is likely to become the popular background neutral against which eye-catching colours will be used.Regarding kitchen designs, Ms Bill said that appliances will feature stark colours like pumpkin and chocolate that will offset the plainer tones of other features like stainless steel kitchen sinks.Colour designer Janice Lindsay told Ms Bill If we use (grey) as background, we can throw in any colour, sizzly colours colour accents in really surprising ways.Ms Bill noted that one company had come out with a range of 24 new dazzling colours that includes racing red, cobalt blue, plum, mint and julep.Supporting Ms Bills findings, a survey of stylists in the Daily Mail last week reported that grey is expected to replace other popular neutral tones like cream, biscuit and white in the coming year.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19597134-ADNFCR
