A US blog has listed what it considers to be the most useless kitchen gadgets ever invented.The article on browardpalmbeach.com names the kitchen as the worst offender for worthless home gadgets, noting that many such items simply end up cluttering drawers and countertops, never to be used again.Among the useless gadgets listed by the blog is an avocado slicer-pitter which it derides for helping to slice through a fruit thats softer than warm butter.The blog claims that the job can simply be performed by using a sharp knife, rather than a specialist tool.Other items to receive criticism include an electric garlic roaster which is described as a waste of money given that the same job can be performed by spending a couple of pennies in aluminum foil and by using the heat from an oven already roasting something else.The list follows the recent launch of a new kitchen tap concept from product designer Jasper Hou that could make the measuring jug redundant by incorporating an in-built device for measuring precise amounts of water.
