Under-cabinet lighting a simple but effective upgrade

Adding under-cabinet lighting to the home can be a cost-effective way of brightening up a kitchen, it has been claimed. According to the Seattle Times, an eye-catching kitchen can also boost the value of a property and industry expert Frankie Cameron described lighting as one way of achieving this. The least-expensive, easiest layer to add is under-cabinet lighting, she remarked, adding that low-voltage xenon bulbs can be used to illuminate kitchen sink areas. However, puck lights should be avoided as they give your counters and shelves these odd spots of light and you can see some models plainly, Ms Cameron explained. Homeowners were also advised to update their ceiling light fixtures so that they not only give off good luminescence but fit in with either a modern or old-fashioned kitchen. Writing for Arizona Republic, Susan Felt recently said that altering the lighting in food-preparation areas can allow individuals to experiment with darker colour schemes.
