Recent research has suggested that mothers today are better cooks than the previous generation. They know on average twenty one recipes off by heart instead of seventeen of their mothers generation. Not only do they know more, modern mothers are more adventurous in cooking trying international dishes as well as traditional British cuisine.Eighty four per cent of the mothers today also think it is important for their children to try as many different dishes as possibleThe research was carried out for the Birmingham Food Festival. Emma Gray, a festival spokesperson, said The findings completely dispel the myth that todays mothers arent particularly into their food, and have other priorities they consider more important than cooking. But the opposite is true, mums actually love to cook, love to see their families enjoying good hearty meals, and mums are becoming more adventurous with their cooking than ever before.
