Tips on saving on the washing up

It doesnt matter how stunning your kitchen sink is, nobody wants to feel that they are constantly washing up dishes. If you dread waking up in the morning, knowing you need to tackle a mountain of dishes and a grubby worktop, here are some tips to help you be more efficient in the kitchen. Firstly, wipe up messes straight away. It takes a fraction of the time to wipe up a spill immediately then it does once it has dried hard. Use fewer kitchen gadgets cleaning one or two knives takes a lot less time than fiddly gadgets. Rinse pans and utensils as you go along so that as many dishes as possible are already clean before you eat your meal. Although it may interrupt your cooking briefly, you will find it becomes second nature once you get into the habit. Although it may not be the most economical choice, using aluminium foil in grill pans helps a lot when it comes to cleaning up afterwards. Start using a garbage bowl. This is a really good tip. Place a large bowl next to your chopping board and line it with a plastic grocery bag. Put all your vegetable scraps and other rubbish in the bag, as you go along. When you have finished, all you need to do is lift up the bag and throw it in the bin. If possible, use your saucepans for more than one thing. It is also worth considering pre-preparing meals and freezing them, to be produced on busy nights. Although you will still have to wash the dishes at some point, during your cooking and preparation, you will be spared too much washing up at times when you are busy. And, if all else fails, use a dishwasher!
