Keeping a sink clean can reduce the number of blockages it experiences but there are other tips homeowners may take note of, according to a newspaper report. The Arizona Republic has reminded sink users to be kind to it and remember that it is responsible for ridding the most waste in the house. For those with sink waste disposers and food waste disposers, running cold water through them each time they are turned on can prevent a build-up of solids. This is because chopping up waste without water can lead to particles getting stuck and ultimately causing the drain to clog. However, people with regular stainless steel sinks or similar should be careful not to pour grease down their drain. Without a sink waste disposer, grease can layer up when mixed with cold water and eventually cause blockages, the newspaper said.Meanwhile, the delights of installing a deep copper sink in her new kitchen were recently described by homeowner Donna Fleck. She told the Indianapolis Star that it is one of many refurbishments that keeps her kitchen functional but fun and inviting.
