The kitchen triangle is still the measure of perfect design

The distance between the kitchen sink, cooker and fridge also known as the kitchen triangle is still a measure of the perfect design, a commentator has said.Writing for the Independent, Kate Watson-Smyth said that the triangle was devised by efficiency experts 50 years ago as a measure of the steps taken by the average homeowner in the kitchen. She suggested that while the sides of the triangle do not have to be equal, the distances should add up to between 12 feet and 23 feet in order to make the best use of the space.Ms Watson-Smyth noted that experts are now advising homeowners to use a mixture of materials for their work surfaces. She said that the Corian surface by DuPont works well around the kitchen sink, allowing people to create a hygienic, all-in-one sink and worktop. This week, homeowner Theresa Walsh Giarrusso, writing on a blog on ajc.com, explained how she made her kitchen more convenient for certain food preparation tasks by installing a large, deep sink.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19581111-ADNFCR
