A technology firm has claimed a new kitchen cloth will revolutionise the way in which homeowners keep their sinks and waste disposal units clean.3M, which has designed the bamboo-based product, says that the cloth is 50 per cent more absorbent than ordinary dishcloths thanks to newly developed technology.It is also expected to prove popular with environmentally-friendly homeowners as the packaging is made with 90 per cent recycled materials.Sarah Downing, consumer and product marketing at Scotch-Brite, the firm for which the cloth was made, said As consumers are becoming increasingly environmentally aware, the demand for sustainable products such as our Bamboo Kitchen Cloth is on the increase.Bamboo is highly sustainable and is already used by half the worlds population for many purposes, including food, shelter and clothing.She added that the unique cleaning accessory combines product innovation with an environmental conscience.Health experts recommend that kitchen sinks and waste disposal units are regularly cleaned to ensure families are protected from harmful bacteria which can build up there.
