Suspending Hips would be a shame

Home information packs (Hips) are worthwhile to homebuyers particularly first-time buyers and their suspension would be a shame, according to FirstRung Now.The Conservatives called for a suspension of Hips last week, but manager editor of FirstRung Now Helen Adams said the packs made things better for first-time buyers. The more information you have on a place that you are going to buy the better, she explained. Hips were introduced from August 1st last year. They include information on homes on the market, such as Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). Ms Adams said since the seller pays for the pack, they are particularly useful for first-time buyers. For those who wish to improve the rating on their EPC, there are things that can be done in the kitchen.Underfloor heating can be more efficient, while insulating walls and boilers can prevent heat escaping. Fitting a food waste disposer such as an In-Sink-Erator can also make your kitchen more eco-friendly as it may reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
