Stylish kitchen design makes cabinet handles obsolete

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A sleek new kitchen design has removed the need for protruding cabinet handles. The Italian kitchen design firm Pedini has introduced its latest model, named Dune. The all-in-one unit, which can be used as a central island and which features its own kitchen sink, consists of asymmetrically curved base cabinets.According to Pedini, the curve of the cabinets echoes the flowing forms found in nature. To add to the sleek, self-contained design, the cabinets do not have handles. Instead, opening is achieved by a groove on the edge of the cabinet front panels.Drawers in the curved units allow Pedini to offer this remarkable design without compromising ergonomics or functionality, claims the company. The design also has strong environmentally-friendly credentials, having been made from post consumption, recycled wood.Kathryn ODonovan of Landmark Kitchen Design Group in the US recently told philly.com that the seating arrangement around a kitchen island is an important consideration in supporting family interaction.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19645359-ADNFCR
