Stainless steel sinks a good choice

Consumer Reports says householders should give more thought to their choice of kitchen sink when embarking on a kitchen renovation. Whilst consumers often concentrate most on what type of oven or refrigerator to install, they neglect to give as much attention to their choice of kitchen sink, which is probably the most used piece of equipment in the kitchen. Consumer Reports tested 18 kitchen sinks by taking cotton balls soaked with Kool-aid, pasta sauce and coffee to see how the sinks responded to stains. The sinks were also checked for scratching and for how well they handled a pot of 400-degree oil. Whilst almost all of the stainless steel sinks suffered scratches, they proved to be the most durable overall. They were also the least expensive. While a sink may not be the most glamorous purchase, choosing the correct one would make kitchen work easier, says Consumer Reports. It advises making sure that your chosen sink is big enough to fit your largest pan and that it is not too deep for your height.
