The floor-plan and placement of appliances in a new kitchen design serves to offer both a stylish forum for entertaining and a functional cooking space, it has been noted. Reporting on a new property design by Heartland Homes in Canada, the Calgary Herald observed that the kitchen in the companys Belvedere II show home incorporates a grandiose open-plan design complete with a black granite kitchen island and unique wine rack. However, a galley-style kitchen has also been established at one end of the room, the newspaper noted, whereby cupboards line both sides of the kitchen and the attention turns to food preparation tasks. Brushed silver handles, glossy grey tiles on the back splash, stainless-steel appliances and a tall pantry cupboard at one end give the room its gourmet appeal, added the paper. Last week, the Daily Telegraph described a new Franke kitchen tap the Rolux model - as a real head-turner, noting that with features such as a pull-out nozzle it is a must for any stylish kitchen.
