Small kitchens big on style

It is possible for good kitchen design to transform small kitchens into spaces that are big on style, an expert has insisted.According to Tish Taylor, a kitchen professional from Kessbear Design, interesting and intelligent design can be the difference between feeling cramped in a kitchen and enjoying the room.Ms Taylor told the Daily Record that making design mistakes such as having too many colours in the room can make a small kitchen just seem to close in on itself. There is usually so much that will be going on in a kitchen that it pays to think strategically about the design, she added.Think about how you cook and what appliances you use the most, and pay a lot of attention to storage. She went on to say that pale colours such as cream can work well in smaller spaces, although white can be too stark.Fellow designer Andrea Kantelberg recently called for simplicity to rule in small kitchens.
