Small businesses are more likely to invest in recycling to improve their environmental impact, one industry organisation has claimed.The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has said that instead of reducing travel, smaller companies will look to alternative ways to cut fuel consumption.A spokesperson from the organisation said that recycling is often championed by small companies, meaning that many may already have waste disposer units fitted in office kitchens.Waste disposer units, such as those made by In-sink-Erator, can help cut the amount of rubbish produced. Small business owners tend to make more of an effort to be environmentally friendly in terms of cutting down on fuel and electricity costs, recycling and investing in insulation and low energy light bulbs, the FSB representative said.A recent report from Opus Energy found that 37 per cent of the UKs small companies are set to cut back on business travel and advertising to cut costs this year.
