People who are hoping to construct their own home and sink accessories often need to navigate an information overload, it has been claimed.There has been a decline in the number of people who build their own houses, which has been a result of individuals suffering from conflicting advice from the internet, a self-build specialist has noted.Barry Sutcliffe said The internet has now exploded, theres a lot more information out there and a massive infrastructure, but the rise [of self-build] has slowed and slowed.According to one of the government ministers Ive talked to, the industry is now going backwards for the first time in 20 years.People who search for self-build online are now buried in information, Mr Sutcliffe added.His comments come after the housing minister Grant Shapps stated that the government now intends to back self-building as a mainstream housing option in the UK.
