A couple installed a second sink within their home kitchen in order to make the room a more functional cooking space, it has been revealed.Susan and Peter Van Buren showed the Baltimore Sun around their property which features a galley kitchen on the second floor. The couple told the newspaper that the house had been in good condition when they bought it and that they had set aside their renovation funds to upgrade the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. Our favorite part of the house has always been the [second floor] kitchen, Ms Van Buren said. Its really a very simple galley kitchen with just the addition of a second sink, which easily turns it into a two-cook kitchen, so cooking [and] clean up duties can easily be shared. It was also noted that an elevated half-wall had been built to offer additional counter space while hiding any kitchen mess from those sitting at a table on the other side of the homes open living space. Last week, an article by Cincinnati Kitchen Remodeling argued that one-wall kitchen layouts in which all cabinets and appliances are lined up against a single wall are particularly cheap and simple to create.
