As summer fades and the nights draw in, a cosy new kitchen may be on the wishlists of many homeowners. In the midst of the credit crunch it may seem like a pipe dream, but a new kitchen sink and taps may be less expensive than previously thought. Simply Kitchen Sinks have a new sink and tap range that offers great value and a lifetime warranty for stainless steel sinks. A new County kitchen tap, such as the 257mm Willow or 136mm Poplar, could update a kitchen for less than the price of a night out.To save money for those other accessories that may brighten up a kitchen, the Energy Saving Trust has offered tips that could save power as well as pounds. Jon McGowan, energy doctor at the trust, recommends insulating boilers to keep heat where you need it coming out of radiators and hot water taps. An insulating jacket for hot water tanks only costs a few pounds and pays for itself within months, he said. Sealing gaps and fitting energy-saving lightbulbs can also make your kitchen toastier, he suggested.
