Samsung launched its Jasper Morrison-designed refrigerator in Paris last week.The J-series appliance won the best product award at the Brit Insurance Design Awards 2008 in March.Product manager for refrigeration Andrew Jones said We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to have won this award. Samsung is hugely proud of the relationship that we have fostered with Jasper Morrison. The result of this is a stylish innovative product with a seamless exterior design.The side-by-side refrigerator took two years to design and is intended to be the creative centrepiece of the kitchen, turning a kitchen appliance into a work of art.It features a flush flat door with hidden hinges, a Z shelf to maximise space and a takeout tray.Jasper Morrison has also designed a Samsung oven, which won the International Forum Design Award.His work also includes furniture and architecture.
