Virtual cooking with robotic chefs is among the innovative ideas in this years Electrolux Design Lab competition, it has been revealed.Earlier this month, Electrolux confirmed its 25 semi-finalists for the competition which aims to find the best kitchen appliance and gadget ideas of the future. According to Cnet.com, one of the most interesting contenders is the Kitchen Hideaway by Daniel Dobrogorsky which consists of a virtual-reality headset that communicates with physical robotic chefs.Envisioned for use in multi-dwelling buildings, hungry participants would select a recipe from a database that would then be prepared in a communal Food Factory, observed the website. This hi-tech idea would then see the robotic chefs passing along the finished meal for delivery directly to the user.In other news, it was suggested last week that more people may look to buy efficient food waste disposers for their home kitchens after the UK government changed its stance on local authority recycling charges.
