Remote control kitchen cabinets predicted by designer

One award-winning kitchen designer has predicted that technology allowing kitchen cabinets and doors to be closed using a remote control will soon come in to play.Sue Gillbanks says there is currently an emphasis on new technology at design fairs and believes the time will come when people will not have to use their muscles to close drawers and doors.I believe that successful design comes down to using the latest technology, the best products, and incorporating design flair and passion working with clients to create spaces that are functional, innovative, unique and timeless is essential, she tells Our Homes TODAY.Ms Gillbanks has been named the National Kitchen and Bath Association Designer of the Year three times and has worked with Poggenpohl and Snidero.In other kitchen technology news, a Leicester student this month announced the invention of a high-tech tea towel, which he says will help to boost kitchen hygiene.Paul Oxleys Aquavac towel is impregnated with anti-bacterial substances and can be used to clean up wet and dry mess around the kitchen as well as drying hands and crockery.
