Recycling issues have become UK green priority

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Recycling and waste management are top of the list as Brits make more effort than ever to tackle green issues in the home, it has been claimed.New research by Co-operative Bank Mortgages found that UK homeowners are planning to spend 13 billion on making their homes greener, while more than two thirds have already started by making changes in the kitchen and elsewhere.Recycling household waste was a change said to have been undertaken by as many as 66 per cent of people this year, reflecting a new concern for avoiding sending recyclable and biodegradable materials to landfill especially in the kitchen.Sink waste disposal units from InSinkErator and other brands could become an increasingly important part of green kitchen plans in the coming year, as people flock to a solution that allows food waste to be churned up into a sewer-ready liquid.Head of mortgages at the Co-operative Bank, John Barker, said This research clearly shows that people are really starting to sit up and take notice of green issues in relation to their homes. Houses are one of the largest sources of carbon dioxide emissions in the UK and taking steps to improve the environmental impact of homes is something that we strongly believe should be encouraged.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18430942-ADNFCR
