Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

As kitchen design focuses more on environmental issues, the latest innovation is an interesting one recycled worktops.Developments in recycling technology have revolutionised what materials can be reused in the home, to such an extent that it should be possible for a new material kitchen worktop never to have to be produced again.Work surfaces can be produced from reclaimed old-school science lab tops, recycled glass, wood or plastic, as well as many other waste and unwanted materials.Adam Hills, of reclaimed interiors company Retrouvius, says Its a pet obsession of mine, this waste we produce and the unnecessary pillaging of new materials.Lets use what weve got rather than waste energy on making from new. Kitchen worktops can be manufactured from recycled glass, reclaimed wood, recycled plastic, recycled wood or reclaimed slate and porcelain tiles.
