Recycled kitchen countertops provide reflective finish

A homeowner was able to achieve a beautiful reflective value in her kitchen countertops by using recycled materials, it has been revealed.Rita Penrod told StarTribune.com that during her kitchen renovation, she had aimed to improve the rooms functionality while also bringing in her own contemporary style and eco-conscious sensibilities. She therefore hired the services of a recycled materials manufacturer who created countertops featuring glass fragments set in industrial ash resin.Ms Ross noted that this had produced a stylish, mirror quality in the worktops.Elsewhere, she retained her existing cabinetry but refaced them with Plyboo (bamboo plywood), a sustainably harvested and rapidly renewable resource. The Plyboo was installed on its side, with the grain running horizontally instead of vertically, to visually expand the space and create a fresh, distinctive look, observed StarTribune.com.Earlier this week, Julian Martin of Eat, Drink and Be noted that removable kitchen sinks have become an important eco-friendly option that allow users to easily recycle dishwater.
