Quartz countertops are becoming more popular

Quartz work surfaces in kitchen sink areas are starting to overtake rivals granite and marble in terms of popularity, one expert has claimed. Countertop specialist Peter Hibbert noted that the main reason for it becoming a sought after material is because it is easy to keep, the National Post reports. There is absolutely no porosity to it, theres no maintenance. So you dont ever have to seal it, he remarked. According to Mr Hibbert, a surface like granite needs its owner to apply sealer and ensure it remains stain free by yearly upkeep, especially if the material is purchased in a lighter colour. With quartz this kind of dedication is not necessary, he added, even if the surface is not dark. Architect and designer Gemini Watanabe recently told the Journal News that quartz is a good option for environmentally-friendly kitchen enthusiasts. It is both a sustainable and hard-wearing substance, she remarked.
