Purple perfect for autumnal kitchens

Among the autumn tones of blackberries and warming glasses of red wine, kitchens are expected to feature touches of purple this season, a colour expert has said. Speaking to the Edmonton Sun, Kate Smith of Sensational Colour said aubergine, plum and violet are set to be in fashionable homes this autumn. These richer hues are complex and reminiscent of royalty, she said. Purple pops up as an accent with neutrals from cool greys to warm browns or beiges and the more muted tones can play as neutrals themselves, she also commented, adding red to the purple mix can brighten things up. Ms Smith said small details such as glass vases can add a dash of on-trend colour to a room, but some homeowners may want to go further with their kitchen design. Choosing a blue sink for example a Nautilus NTG651 from Franke kitchen sinks or a Roma Gemini NRA10601RGB Rangemaster sink can emphasise purple tones.
