A leading kitchen manufacturer staged its official opening in Wrexham, with its sinks and taps graced by royal presence in a dramatic ceremony day.The new IMC kitchen manufacturing HQ on Wrexham Industrial Estate was visited by Princess Anne known as the Princess Royal for the official site opening, but not before the royal suffered a helicopter scare.Princess Annes helicopter was brought down prematurely at a local high school as smoke billowed from it, after what the North Wales Fire Service later claimed was an electrical fault in the starter motor. With royal poise, however, the Princess was reported to have kept her cool remarkably well, before proceeding to the kitchen companys site by car to carry out the opening ceremony.IMC is a leading European manufacturer of specialist kitchen and bar equipment, with the new 4.5 million Wrexham head office and manufacturing centre intended to allow the company to expand further.IMC managing director, Tim Tindle, told Welsh journal the Daily Post that the royal visitor was not only cool under pressure but also well up on the companys business and important kitchen issues. The Princess Royal was particularly interested in our new food waste composting system, which she recognised as being good for the environment and having the potential to massively reduce landfill across the UK, he said.
