When planning a new kitchen, homeowners should not get too preoccupied with the latest trends, according to designer Trac Papish.Speaking to Cleveland.com, he said If you like single basin sinks, buy a single basin sink.Other tips provided by the designer include fitting square floor tiles on the diagonal to create more visual interest. For those on a tight budget, he suggests customising manufactured cabinets with accessories like attractive hardware, pullout shelves and knife storage. He also advises homeowners to think about how they will use a countertop before making a final decision.Mr Papish states if you plan to keep a lot of items on the countertop it is better to opt for a simple pattern. However, he suggests people who will keep their countertops free of clutter can afford to go for a stone with movement and lots of colours and veins. Meanwhile, the BBC has warned it is possible to have too much storage in a kitchen as mess expands to fit the cupboard space available.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18733348-ADNFCR
