Kitchens that reflect too much of the owners personality are less likely to attract potential buyers, one organisation has claimed.Research carried out by the National Association of Estate Agents for Bricks and Mortar found that people are put off by decor that is too personal, the Times reports. The news source noted If you cannot trust yourself not to install a kitchen that expresses every facet of your personality, this is not the time to put your house on the market.According to the study, this years property investors are well informed and will not be interested in homeowners that overvalue the price of their home, with botched DIY conversions also frowned upon by buyers. People were also advised that mock-period old manor houses are coming back into fashion, as they have kitchens for staff and can be converted into family rooms.Interior design specialist Gary Pino advised those looking to revitalise kitchen sink areas when putting their home on the market should consider a new backsplash, the Democrat and Chronicle reported last month.
