People returning to cookery and real food

New figures have shown that more and more people are turning to home cooking and are increasingly motivated by health factors when out food shopping, according to Quality Meat Scotland.Promoting the purchase of high quality meats for home preparation, the group claimed that a study from research firm TNS showed a 15 per cent rise in the amount of shoppers choosing a meal on health grounds.Citing an increase of only one per cent in the amount of convenience-oriented food purchases, the group said that British society had reached a turning point.Laurent Vernet, Quality Meat Scotlands head of marketing, said A fundamental realignment of how the main shopper evaluates food is happening. They are moving away from seeing high fat as unhealthy and low fat as healthy to, in their own words, proper food versus rubbish food.With increasing numbers of cooks in the kitchen and healthy food purchases requiring lengthier preparation counter-top space management has become more important than ever.Compact kitchen sinks such as Astracasts Spacesaver 1.25 bowl model could help to keep the kitchen uncluttered, leaving ample space to express a newfound enthusiasm for cooking.
