People in the over-50 age bracket need to take special care and make preparations before undertaking a large-scale DIY project - such as installing a kitchen sink - one expert has suggested.Director at the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) Andrew Leech remarked that while some tasks may be done around the home, it is often better to call a professional. He said In so far as jobs such as new baths and new kitchens, it is as well to get the expert in to do that sort of thing. Work such as plumbing, roofing and electrical jobs should all be left to qualified workmen, Mr Leech added. According to a recent survey by Sainsburys, 11 per cent of people had admitted to taking on electrical work in high-danger areas such as the kitchen. In recent news, managing director at Lloyds TSB Insurance Phil Loney advised homeowners who require work done to their properties to make sure labourers have the correct credentials.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19244179-ADNFCR
