Homeowners who want only the most luxurious products in their kitchens may be interested in a 24-carat gold oven. Australia-based appliance company St George has moved away from its traditional white goods to gold goods and has designed the first gold oven, Hospitality has reported. The custom-built oven, part of the Luxe collection introduced this month, features handles, door frames, wire racks, rack holders, a baking dish, fascia panels, hinges, brackets and control knobs all made of 24-carat gold. Fans of gold may also like to add luxury to their kitchen sinks with some gold taps. Perrin and Rowe, Franke and Abode all offer a range of gold taps in modern and traditional styles. The Bridge design from Franke taps, for example, combines an unusual shape with traditional elegance and functionality. American singer Mariah Carey is a well-know enthusiast for gold taps, reportedly requiring all taps to be replaced with gold products in her hotel suites.
