A new gadget from kitchen whiz Jamie Oliver has been labelled one of the top kitchen products this season.Gaining popularity on both sides of the Atlantic, the Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker was singled out by US newspaper the National Post as one of its top devices for improving kitchen efficiency.An alternative to the traditional pestle and mortar, the gadget was recommended as a top way of bruising and bashing herbs, spices, garlic and oil in order to turn them into marinades.The National Post claimed The product mirrors its inventor/spokesman in a number of ways its slightly ridiculous, half retro-half futuristic but it ultimately delivers delicious results.Users were warned, however, to follow instruction ands clamp the two halves of the device firmly together, in order to avoid spillages meaning that as a precaution all flavour shaking could be carried out over the kitchen sink. Oliver has recently come in for criticism in the UK, with regulator Ofcom ruling the celebrity chef to have been guilty of breaching broadcasting regulations after using his own device on his show.
