New cost-effective alternative to water softeners

Around 70 percent of UK properties are located in hard water areas and as a result, householders have been forced to resort to water softeners to prevent lime scale damage to taps, boilers, showers and kettles. However, a new product designed to prevent lime scale build-up means householders now have a more cost effective option when it comes to protecting appliances in their homes. NoCalc, a new patented product, is now available in the UK and provides an easier and more environmentally friendly alternative to installing a water softener. It works by introducing a tiny precision metered amount of silico polyphosphate into the water as it enters the home. This is done through a dosing system combined with a venturi device inside the top of a NoCalc cartridge. Silico polyphosphate works by coating the calcium and magnesium in water allowing it to flow freely through pipes. The beauty of this substance is that it is food grade quality and therefore safe to add to drinking water. When consumed and digested, it releases the calcium and magnesium, much needed minerals for human health, into the body. Silico polyphosphate, which occurs naturally in water, has been used within commercial water treatment procedures for many years. Due to NoCalcs unique dosing system, which releases a maximum of just 5ppm (5 parts per million parts of water) into the water, the minimum is introduced to protect an entire house against lime scale build-up. Available as a complete starter set containing a pre-filter to remove all particles and impurities and the NoCalc dosing system, it can be installed at a cost of just a few hundred pounds, meaning that savings can be made very quickly. Not only does lime scale build-up effect the function and reduce the longevity of many household appliances such as taps and showers, but the clogging up of pipes within the home means heating systems have to work much harder to heat the water, resulting in higher fuel bills. Hard water also increases usage of of costly detergents and chemicals. Thus the initial cost of a NoCalc starter kit can soon be offset with savings.
