New conference centre for the OECD

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A new conference centre for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) headquarters in Paris has been designed by a team of architects, lighting consultants and acoustics consultants.New York architectural firm Pei, Cobb, Freed and Partners, teamed up with Architects LLP, lighting consultants Cosentini Associates and Paris based acoustical consultants Acoustique Conseil to design a lighting and acoustics plan. The main problems for the team were the underground location of the conference centre, which meant natural lighting needed to be recreated, and acoustic challenges which arose from the different sizes of rooms.CertainTeeds Signature by Decoustics line was chosen for the ceiling as it has good sound absorbing qualities and light reflectance, the company claims. Eric Bishun, general manager of Decoustics said The boundless customization capabilities of Signature by Decoustics ceiling products truly give building and design professionals one-of-a-kind solutions that create beautiful, functional and acoustically superior environments. The construction of the new conference centre is part of a renovation of OECD headquarters campus. The newly renovated campus is expected to fully re-open in 2009.CertainTeed is a North American building products manufacturer, who provide both exterior and interior products such as roofing, windows and insulation.ADNFCR-1177-ID-18730628-ADNFCR
