Ikea has offered a sneak peak of possible hi-tech gadgets to come by releasing its concept for a kitchen of the future. The interiors company has launched a detailed plan of what it expects kitchens in the year 2040 to look like following a survey of the expectations of nearly 2,000 people.A multi-touch kitchen tap that works according to hand movements and self-cleaning work surfaces are among the futuristic technologies to have been envisioned. However, tech website Gizmodo.com.au expressed skepticism about whether all the predictions were realistic.Im not so sure about their idea that this kitchen will have sixth-generation iPads in every cabinet door, but the 3D food printing is certainly something we know is on its way, it said.Meanwhile, Lizelle Christison, a technology and telecommunications publicist, recently told TimesLive.co.za that from both a personal and professional perspective, people now need to be constantly connected to something when it comes to home appliances.
