More sustainable materials in kitchen design

There is an increasing interest in using sustainable materials when designing kitchen features, it has been claimed.More people are also using salmon leather for their sink accessories, which is a fish skin that has been processed as leather and highlights the effects of sustainability on kitchen design, a specialist from Mark Wilkinson Furniture believes.Richard Moss, head of communications at the company, said With the wood were using, we will know within a few metres where the tree that that wood came from grew, and [that] its from the indigenous people of the area.Mr Moss also explained that people are now understanding the importance of where wood is sourced from and how much it matters to buyers.The Ayrshire Post has reported that green houses are being built on the Dumfries Home Estate in Knockroon.They will feature energy efficient installations that range from woodburning stoves to low energy lighting.
