There is a growing demand for integrated appliances that blend with the overall design of a kitchen, one retailer has said.Jordan Fraser, manager of Calgary Home Appliance Gallery in Canada, noted that more people in the country are turning to European flair when it comes to kitchen equipment.European kitchens tend to have real flat, sleek veneered cabinetry, and the appliances that best compliment that are ones that are very flat and sleek, the specialist told the Calgary Herald. That can mean fridges that seamlessly blend in behind cabinet doors, giving the appearance of more space and cleaner lines within the kitchen.Elsewhere, it was noted that appliances are offering a wide range of functional extras, with ice and water dispensers on refrigerators complementing the kitchen tap.Meanwhile, a recent article on kitchen design trends by SunHerald.com noted that fewer overhead cabinets are being installed in kitchens, with lift-up or sliding doors and self-closing drawers being more widely adopted.
