Homeowners should invest in new tap and sink designs to save money by reducing the amount of water they use, British Eco Energy has said.As well as investing in insulation and solar panels, homeowners should look at their kitchen sink plumbing to save money and energy. The renewable energy technology organisation has suggested that storing rain water and using solar power to operate kitchen devices can cut the cost of utility bills.Although rain water cannot be used for anything that your mouth goes near, it can still be incorporated in the kitchen. You can store it, use it for toilets and washing machines, but you cant use it for anything that your mouth goes near, a spokesperson for British Eco Homes said.If youre on the water meter and you flush the toilet, think how much money youre flushing down the drain all the time.Figures from the Energy Saving Trust show that 54 per cent of people believe green home design and appliances including kitchen sinks and taps will become more important than aesthetic design trends in the future.
