A mobile kitchen unit has been devised which incorporates a range of functions yet folds up to fill a space of just one square metre. The Stewart and Justin case by product designers Maria Lobisch and Andreas Nather has been developed for people who find themselves travelling or moving home a great deal or for those with limited kitchen space, the Design Blog reported.Made from steel and wood with textile webbing, the unit opens out into different configurations and is divided into two halves one for preparation, cleaning and storage and the other for dining. The prep half comes with a kitchen sink, drying rack and shelving system for storage while the second half offers a makeshift, fold-out table with dining space for four.Meanwhile, interior design expert Karl Lohnes said in a column for Metro Canada this week that homeowners can create kitchens that last by keeping their designs simple.
