Minister champions kitchen tap water

Written Water from the kitchen tap has been championed by one minster who has called the purchase of bottled water as madness, it has been reported.Local Government and the Environment minister John Shimmin told the Isle of Man Today that a firm has requested it set up a bottled water business to extract water from a natural spring on the island. While he appreciated the economic benefits this project could bring, he added that water from the kitchen tap is still the best practice. It seems madness with an island with so much water of good quality that anyone is buying bottled water. Those buying bottled water should just go to the tap and fill it up for the next day, Mr Shimmin told the publication.People who buy bottled water because they prefer the taste could buy a Franke Triflow water filter to fit to their kitchen taps.Like most of the other Franke kitchen taps, the Triflow system incorporates quarter-turn ceramic disc valves, which divert water through the purification unit.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19229028-ADNFCR
