Philips has announced the completion of its Mayan lighting project in Mexico, possibly paving the way for more lighting projects around the world and in the UK.Ruins at the Edzna site in the state of Campeche were illuminated by LEDs from Philips, which installed the system around the Piramide de los Cinco Pisos - the Pyramid of Five Floors. The companys ColorBlast LED fixtures allow the building to transition between millions of colours without any use of mechanical scrollers or coloured gels.Philips also noted that the lighting does not radiate heat or ultraviolet rays which would effectively damage the temple over time, delivering an eco-friendly project. The company said Thanks to the multimedia spectacular, Edzna has become an icon for the Maya culture and continues to increase cultural tourism for the area.Philips announced on Monday that its sales went up by six per cent on the previous year which it attributed to the high sales of energy-efficient lighting.ADNFCR-1177-ID-18689253-ADNFCR
