Long way to go until properties become more sustainable

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

There is a long way to go before British properties and their sink accessories become more sustainable, one expert believes. This is because the UK is currently failing to reach its targets for energy efficiency in the housing market, with many residents not giving green technologies enough consideration, according to the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).Andrew Leech, director at the NHIC, said Any DIY person who has the ability could make an impact on that by updating the home to make it energy efficient and also to get it ready to take on board solar panels, photovoltaic panels and wind turbines.Mr Leech also noted that companies should urge homeowners to consider energy efficiency measures that tie-in with their kitchen or bathroom renovation plans.Earlier this month, the Renewable Energy Association reported that Britain failed to reach its ten per cent renewable energy target for 2010, as only 6.5 per cent of electricity was derived from renewable sources.ADNFCR-1321-ID-800505119-ADNFCR
