The kitchen is a room that can appeal to all people as it is a common theme in all walks of life.That is according to Historic New England, which is calling 2009 the Year of the Kitchen.The organisation believes that the evolution of the kitchen can reveal a lot about he make-up of society.Susanna Crampton, public relations officer for Historic New England, told the Lincoln Journal People can really relate to the kitchen because everybody has one.Jennifer Pustz from the organisation added When you have a party now, everybody ends up in the kitchen. Kitchens are really full of stories.It really reminds us, while theres a certain amount of generalities you can make about kitchens, you cant speak entirely in generalities.Pustz has noted that kitchen design now allows the room to be a shared space rather than have specific purposes, such as to cook and clean.
