Although many are still sceptical about their cooking skills, it has been claimed that the kitchen is the heart of the home during the Christmas period.A new survey from Magnet cast the kitchen in an important Christmas light, with a third of people already preparing their Yuletide meals, reported retail site Easier.com.But with nearly two months still to go to Christmas, as many as 65 per cent of respondents were reported to have cited pressure from mothers-in-law and other relatives as an additional stress in the period. For those braving the chastisement of difficult relatives and inhabiting the kitchen over the festive season, the survey showed new approaches to Christmas dinner, with nearly half replacing chicken with other means and a quarter using frozen Yorkshire puddings. Most striking was the reinforcement of the national stereotype, with the recent boom in cooking programs and celebrity chefs failing to equip Brits properly for cooking as 50 per cent admitted to overcooking their vegetables.According to Easier.com, Magnets marketing and product director Anjum Ahmed said The kitchen is truly the heart of the home during the festive holidays and people shouldnt be afraid of the traditional Christmas dinner.
