The kitchen is increasingly becoming one of the most important rooms in a home, it has been claimed.Ed Pell, manager of marketing research at the National Kitchen Bath Association, said kitchens are often a households hub.As a consequence of this trend, kitchen designers are now aiming to meet their clients requirements.With multiple cooks working in the kitchen, and more entertaining and family activities conducted there, designers want to fulfill their clients desire for increased functionality with efficient work areas, Mr Pell commented.A survey conducted by the association in partnership with Thermador found 67 per cent of designers now include several cooking stations, including wall ovens, into kitchen designs.Some are also adding appliances to kitchen islands, the study revealed.In related news ObeliskInteriors recently claimed that a gloss finish to furniture or fixtures is becoming a popular trend in interior design.
