The cost of running a UK home has soared to over 11,000, new research has claimed.Such a sum adds up to around 220 a week or 31.38 a day per household, Sainsburys Home Insurance said. While this overall cost is 2.6 per cent higher than it was two years ago, gas and electricity prices have risen the most out of all household costs.Kitchen taps could play an important part in the battle to keep such utility bills down.Fitting aerators to kitchen taps can reduce energy consumption because less water is used. The Windsor Star claimed that water flow is reduced by up to half when aerators are fitted to kitchen taps.Commenting on the expense of running a home, Joanne Mallon, manager of Sainsburys Home Insurance, stated We spend thousands of pounds each year running our homes and have often invested even more money on furnishings and decorating.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19224817-ADNFCR
